RECESS Education is thrilled to announce Mahogany Voices, an anthology project that amplifies the voices and creativity of Black women. An anthology is a collection of artistic works generated by a group of talented and inspired individuals. Our six-month developmental program empowers Black women to publish their first works in a supportive cohort of peers, fostering sisterhood, and providing coaching to set participants up for future success.
Authors have 2-3 months to write and 2-3 months to go through the publishing process. At the end of the program, authors will be celebrated by their community at the release of their book!
We cordially invite Black women from Manatee, Sarasota, Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Polk counties to participate in this year’s cohort. Our focus this year is on “Motherhood,” and we are particularly interested in short stories.
We want to say thank you for considering RECESS Education and Mahogany Voices as your starting point on this exciting journey!
